New Moon to Blue Moon
Friday 8/17/12 @ 8:54 am (Pacific) is the New Moon Leo.
New moons are always the best time to plant seeds, begin new projects and start a new relationship. Leo is ruled by the Sun & we have been finally getting some warm Sun in Seattle! Leo also rules over desires and fame, a time when we want recognition for our talents. Leo, the Lioness, think your Majesty, time to get in your power, have pride and confidence. This is the moon to be the best you can be, begin projects you have been dreaming of and make it happen now! Leo is ruled by fire, so this is a good time for bonfires on the beach (maybe not at the dry campground where it could be a huge fire hazard!)
Leo also sparks passion, this is a great new moon for finding new love or bringing your relationship to the next level. Leo makes for great friendships, too, good time to get out with friends, play and enjoy yourself.
Leo new moon has a lot to do with Strength & personal power, it can be related to the Strength card in the Tower. This immediately brings to mind Samson & Delilah, Delilah wanting to know how Samson came upon his strength and eventually cutting his hair to rob him of his strength. No one can take your power from you! This is a good time to focus on your Hara, 3rd Chakra power.
Here is an exercise I give clients is to find your Acupressure point for the Hara, also known as the Sea of Chi (CV-6). Place your hand at your belly button and count 3 fingers width below the belly button, that is the spot. Press gently here while taking a deep full belly breath, as you exhale and your belly caves in, press deeper into the point. Envision a ball of orange light like the Sun, radiating warmth and energy in your belly. Do this exercise 5-10 times in a row to increase energy, access your reserve chi and empower yourself. This is similar to the dantien, that martial artists use to access their power. This is a potent point for Fertility Acupressure, to build fertile chi.
Sea of Chi Activation (Hara)
During this 2 week New Moon cycle, Chiron is still in Pisces meaning a wonderful time for healing, inspiring dreams, time to journal those dreams for messages that can lead to transformation.
The full moon on 8/31/12 will be a Blue Moon (the second Full moon in one month) and it will be in Pisces. Pisces Full Moon is all about the subconscious, dreams, intuition and emotions. Surrender to your subconscious, listen to your gut and let things happen for you, instead of forcing them to happen for once. I will write more about this exciting Pisces Blue Moon as it approaches, so check back!
